Masters of Disguise Owlcrate Unboxing

In case you didn’t know, I used to be subscribed to Owlcrate (I only missed out on their first 3 boxes) for a long time, but then I got a bit tired of it (at the time they were using very similar items/same shops in every single box). The nice thing is they’re much better now so I restarted it :).

Starting from the book and going clockwise:

  • Mirage by Somaiya Daud. In an owlcrate exclusive cover that I have to admit I am loving so much!
  • Theme magaizne/zine.
  • A gorgeous ceramic mug (that looks like an enamel one, which for me is a MASSIVE win, enamel are perfect but difficutl to hold because heat!)
  • A delightful bath soak that foams (win once again!)
  • ADSOM Lila Bard print
  • A nail polish from publisher to promote Grim Lovelies.
  • Six of Crows fingerless mittens (they are gorgeous, love the button detail).
  • Apple mint lip balm (this is always a welcome item in a book box as my bf steals them from me once it starts getting cooler/wintery).
  • Theme card and pin.

I was delighted by this box so here I come for the next one!

Staycation Yume Twins Unboxing

With a theme such as staycation, how could I resist this box? It was extra cute which was perfect for a cheering up after a long work day. Starting on the cute bird plushie:

  • There where six different birds that you could get, they’re all round and cute and super soft (shame you can’t share textures online). I didn’t have a particular preference this time, so I was happy with the one I got.
  • The Staycation “magazine” which explains items, and other bits and bobs.
  • A Hello Kitty travel toothbrush. Previously they did a My Melody one and it is one of the handiest things ever, so I was glad to get another one (and I like anything Sanrio)
  • Zipper Bags, they look like “mason jars” but are actually sturdy zipper bags. They seem ideal for snacks but I would want to use them for things that can be washed out and then reuse them. They’re very very cute.
  • A Little Twin Stars shopping bag. It comes in its own carrying bag and once again, it is sturdy and it is also lovely.
  • Disney Tsum Tsum water tumbler. It was one of the first things I unboxed and I immediately thought of a friend who likes Disney a lot and it made me smile.
  • Sticky tabs with cute motifs. I recently have been using this type of things more and more as I read and note things in stories that I’d like to remember or share out, so this are welcome.

Catwoman Litjoy Crate Unboxing

As you know this is the US edition and it is a signed copy (it isn’t a Litjoy exclusive but still, very cool). Starting from the book, here’s the unboxing:

  • Catwoman book by Sarah J. Maas, it also has an author letter.
  • Catwoman socks (I loved them so much!)
  • A Harley Quinn bath bomb which is hwy it is two colours 🙂
  • Catwoman theme booklet.
  • Jewellry ceramic dish, Meow! I thought it was a very original idea and found it a lovely addition to the box.
  • Poison Ivy candle, which made me smile.
  • Catwoman decals, for your nails, and they look gorgeous, tempting me to redo my nails, but alas I have at the moment Ghibli themed ones and I love them too.
  • And of course the exclusive trading cards for Litjoy.

It was a lovely box, even if it felt a tiny bit less wow that previous boxes, but on the good side I enjoyed all items.

Tech Tribes Book Box Club Unboxing

It’s almost two years of Book Box Club, and this beautiful box was amazing! I cant’ wait to read the book. Starting from the book and going clockwise:

  • Jinxed by Amy McCulloch, the premise sounds amazing and I just want to read it!
  • Are we all lemmings and Snowflakes sampler
  • Robot Socks by Joe Cool, which are a gorgeous book box club matching colour.
  • Invent the future mug with artwork by Alicia Jo (and it is absolutely stunning!)
  • Lunar Chronicles Coaster, which matches the theme card and is all techy!
  • Clubhouse invite
  • A bookmark from publishers which is gorgeous.
  • Colour Me In sampler
  • Jinx Necklace, which made me swoon and I have worn and loved, it is amazing!
  • Theme card
  • Ada Lovelace sticker by Victorian Store
  • And finally a cute magnetic BB8 bookmark by Rachel Norline Art.

August Fairyloot Unboxing

This is sadly my last Fairyloot box for now, I have had to umm and err a lot about it, the contents just haven’t been wowing me and I try to only keep book boxes that give me joy when I open them. Anyway, starting from the book and going clockwise:

  • These Rebel Waves (loved the colour of the sprayed edges!)
  • Author letter and character art.
  • Sweet Pea magical scrub from Geeky Clean.
  • Banner flag, with a slight error in spelling but the phrase is good.
  • Tiny magnet.
  • Why is the Rum Always Gone water bottle (I liked this item and it made me smile).
  • Candle, this one had a too subtle scent it was really hard to actually get any scent from it which made a bit sad, I love candles).
  • Pirate Wax Seal, woot!!!! This was a great addition to the box and it made me smile to see it there.
  • Theme card and bookmark.

It wasn’t a bad box to end this with, and I hope that they can entince me with further themes.

NPC Crate Unboxing

So I have been an excited idiot and have forgotten to take pictures of the previous boxes because it is just cute. NPC (Nerd Poured Candles) Crate is a candle, pin and bookmark subscription box that is all about nerdiness, and I love it.

Yes, it is a “simple” as in no frills and craziness, but it is sound in content. This one had three delicious smelling candles! (MY favourite smell matchng my own idea of how it would smell was Totoro’s Forest, but I was also very pleasantly surprised by Yubaba’s Bath House mostly because I have never been to one and somehow as I smelled this candle I went “oh yes, this makes sense even if I didn’t even imagine it close to this!”

The Calcifer pin was awesome with all the sassiness of him in it and I was so happy to see it in there. And the bookmark on the other side has the description of things (you level up with each crate, but shhh! let the n00bs find out the hard way) and the label for each candle (as in contents, ingredients, etc).

August Yume Twins (Dreamland)

This theme sounded too good to pass up, dreaming, sleeping, all the best things, and they do have such cuteness. Starting from the plushie and going clockwise:

  • Cute plushie, I forget the fandom off the top of my head. But it is very squishie.
  • Theme magazine.
  • Pokemon notebook (it has cute pokemons inside)
  • Pokemon cable protector (isn’t it super cute, sleeping away? *cuteness overload*)
  • Kitty/feline bookmark with sticky-notes
  • Cooling pillow cover, I haven’t tried it out but it does sound interesting and useful.
  • Face cloth, it is so soft :3

Witchcraft Book Box Club Unboxing

A witchy magical box for their first special box (as in the box is now Book Box Colour and printed rather than a sticker on a brown box and it is so gorgeous!). Starting with the book and going clockwise:

  • The Lost Witch by Melvin Burgess, I was going to preorder but guessed it’d be in this box. Then knew he was at YALC so I actually have two copies, one dedicated and one from the box.
  • A bookmark to match the book.
  • Promotional postcards.
  • A chocolate frog for all your witchcraft (it was very yummy!)
  • Invitation to the Clubhouse
  • Promotional bookmark for This Cruel Design (This Mortal Coil was awesome).
  • Portable Magic Book Pouch by Tea Cake Art. The design is gorgeous (though I admit I thought it was a sandwich carrier for lunch but love it either way).
  • A Spell for Wildflowers by Wildflower Favours. I thought this was such a cute thing to get!
  • Hubble Bubble Bath Potion by Midsummer Child. A great spell for a weary day!
  • Luna Lovegood candle by Madame Fiction. It smells delicious.
  • And a pair of super cute witchy earrings by Fairy Fountain Gifts.

I can’t wait for the next box and to read the book and I just really loved the box 🙂

The Power Within Fairyloot Unboxing

A mixed box of feelings for me. Some items were very good but the rest were not enough. Let’s do the unboxing starting from the book and going clockwise:

  • Heart of Thorns by Bree Barton. It has red sprayed edges (beautiful) and expect a review soon (like in two days).
  • Sweet Black Waves postcard.
  • Author letter/character art print.
  • Fairyscope hidden underneath.
  • Children of Blood and Bone print (one of my favourite things from this box).
  • Theme card.
  • Witchy broomstick with a quote referencing Quidditch.
  • Colour changing mug. Sadly it is just a quote in colours, it isn’t a wonderful picture or some fun effect, which is a shame as Ink & Wonder designs are usually delightful and lovely.
  • Wrongly printed tea towel (they are sending one that isn’t reversed, no one thoguht to check this before printing sadly).
  • A room spray from Geeky Clean.
