Fire & Ice LitJoy Crate

This beautiful box peaked my interest and I just couldn’t resist it. I mean, fire, ice, wolves, magic words for me.

It is my first Middle Grade crate, and it was fun to receive it. Starting from the book and going clockwise:

  • Ice Wolves by Amie Kaufman. I was thinking of preordering it but it sounded fun to get it in a LitJoy Crate. It comes with a signed bookplate and a letter from Amie.
  • Elementals bookmark.
  • Theme card with a wolf on the cover,
  • “Ice” candy sucker, which is meant to represent an ice spear from the book, and hey, it is sweet!
  • Activity booklet with puzzles and other interesting bits.
  • Dragon Decal Sticker, which I loved, I can see it going on my laptop.
  • A compass, which was kinda unexpectedly cool and it glows in the dark.
  • The Gathering Storm from The Hidden World of Changers. I have never heard of it but it sounds fun!
  • 3D Wolf LED Night Light which I finally found an adapter for and it is cute and cool and I like it! It is just fun and I will probably have it on my desk.

All in all, I was super pleased with it. I kept squealing and being excited about the contents (I think I was the least excited by the Changers book and that’s mostly because I didn’t know much about them). But seriously, gushing over everything.

Upon Her Throne Litjoy Crate Unboxing

Who wants to be a queen? No? Yes? I admit I may not particularly want the hassle but it sounds like a fun thing to do now and then. And in this month’s LitJoy Crate you can get a tiny taste of that.

So going round and starting with the book:

  • The Queen’s Rising by Rebbeca Ross. I was going to preorder this book because she chooses knowledge as her passion and the book sounded intriguing. It came with author letter and signed bookplate.
  • Underneath is a Constellation Scarf that is so utterly gorgeous I can’t help but love it.
  • That gorgeous crystal necklace is a Stone of Eventide Necklace.
  • On top of it is the booklet with all the explanations as to why they chose each item and this time it includes other book recommendations.
  • Restore Me sampler.
  • Sansa Stark print by Yara Noe. It is hauntingly dark and I love it even though at first I didn’t know who it was.
  • Heartless Quote Bookmark which has a delicate decoration I am enjoying very much.
  • Passion Bath Bomb (apparently I got With which is the green one) by Fizzy Fairy Apothecary.

This box is so lush and somehow makes me want to run a bath and just read this book and relax.

December’s LitJoy Crate Unboxing

This was delayed due to me being a silly person and having it sent to work address so it arrived while I was on holiday so the unboxing was very delayeed, woops!

I kinda guessed what book would be in this box as I follow the author on Twitter, but let’s go in order on the contents of this box, starting with the book of course:

  • Kat and Meg Conquer the World by Anna Priemaza.
  • Signed book plate and author letter.
  • Happy holidays postcard from the team.
  • Kat & Meg spoiler card (it includes all the items and why they were chosen).
  • Parabatai rune pin.
  • Spoiler card for January’s box (Batman!)
  • Epic Reads Look Book which is kinda like a fun activity book about books.
  • Inej and Nina print by Katherine Butler.
  • Lavender sleep mask which is a nice relaxing bit and quite unexpected.
  • Kindred Spirits candle by The Muggle Library. It smells nice and friendly.
  • Harry Potter Golden Trio tote bag by Sarah Conradsen, and I love the illustration on it.
  • Calm Yo Self anxiety roller by the Literary Apothecary. I tested it the day it arrived and have been using it at work and it is quite interesting, even when I am not the most fond of the lavender smell. It may be my favourite item from the box.

Now I can’t wait for this month’s box to arrive as it is curated by Marie Lu!

November’s LitJoy Crate Unboxing

Second LitJoy crate I have received, and I found it interesting (despite the postage delays which wasn’t their fault at all, all my international boxes have been utterly delayed).

Let’s unbox in clockwise fashion starting on the book:

  • Otherworld by Jason Segel and Kirsten Miller (I had preordered this one but the guess for the box wasn’t Otherworld, so I didn’t expect it, anyway it just meant someone gets a free book).
  • A Ready Player One Quote tumbler by Evie Seo. I like that it is blue and I did loose the straw when I unboxed it and as I was clearing up it appeared but sadly it is missing from this picture (the straw, not the tumbler).
  • Otherworld promotional postcards.
  • Underneath is another Evie Seo design, but this time a pillow/cushion case with a Harry Potter quote.
  • Theme card, which inside explains why they chose each item and what each item is.
  • Otherworld sunglasses (I think these where promotional items).
  • Feyre Art Print by Jo Painter.
  • Otherworld luggage tag which is probably my favourite item which is kinda silly but there’s something neat about it.
  • Ink and Wonder bookmark, which is lovely as per usual with her bookmarks.
  • Quote print from publishers.
  • Yoda and Luke magnets (Lego version).

I didn’t really know what to expect with this box but once again I was pleasantly surprised with the contents. I have one more to go before my three month trial runs out and I am wondering how that will go.

Dragon Slayer LitJoy Crate

This is my first LitJoy Crate, I had heard that sometimes they get an author to curate them or something like that so decided to give it a go before they even announced the theme for October. (Yeah, by now you should know I just go and buy book boxes because book boxes, in all fairness, I do check past boxes before buying but the theme rarely ever bothers me and I only worry about theme so I can figure out what kind of items/books are there).

Let’s do around the clock, (one day it will be counterclockwise I promise) starting with the book:

  • The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli. I AM so happy this was the book because for Gollancz Festival there was an event with Kristen and I got my book signed (plus she curated this box and recognised my scarf at the event!).
  • Underneath everything is an infinity dragon scale scarf which took me ages to figure out how to wear because I have never had an infinity scarf despite having a nice collection of scarfs at home.
  • A Khaleesi Kisses lipbalm which smells delicious, warm and firey and just perfect.
  • A dagger/knife shaped bookmark.
  • Candle
  • Shakespeare quote print which also has on the toher side the author letter (this broke my heart because I usually stick author letters to the books but I can’t do this for it because it is such a gorgeous print… decisions, decisions, decisions!).
  • The Complete Book of Dragons by Cressida Crowell which is all about dragons and I think is such a wonderful companion to The Last Namsara.
  • Jon Snow bookmark, which is stunning too.
  • Content leaflet which explains why each item was chosen and has pictures identifying each one.

I was very pleased with the box, and I am very happy this was my first one. Of course I am getting more of them so hopefully this will go beautifully well and I will keep raving about it (also no customs which was an amazing bonus).
