I love, love Foxes in Love as little comics, and when they first launched the book I wanted one but they didn’t ship it to the UK, so I waited, but now they do. And then I had it on my wishlist and Justine sent it as a surprise and I read it super quick and smiled a lot.

I really love the foxes, the comics are online so you can find them on twitter and Instagram that’s where I usually read them. But as I read through this one I realised I had missed quite a few even if several where also very familiar.

Mostly the book is about two foxes, Green and Blue who are in love and are having little adventures or declarations of love, and you just get to see their personalities, their relationship and a lot fo it made me smile either reminding of friends or situations or things I wish for, so very relatable, plus they are foxes which is always a big bonus in my books as you may know.

Overall, if you have seen the ones online, I recommend having this little book and collecting them. I want volume 2 too!

Look, if I was going to buy one book for World Book Day, it’d be this one because it has foxes on the cover. I have not read the original book of Grimwood, so this was my introduction to this world.

As such I really liked that it comes with a little character introduction with funny commentary, which helped set the mood of what was to come in the little tales around the campfire. And I liked that a lot.

The short little book is all about a special festival in Grimwood where people do fun activities and at the end tell stories around a campfire. So we go through the characters and they each tell stories, some are true, some are almost certainly not even if they claim they are but it is funny to read and see where they exaggerate or make it up or in some cases where the story ends up being quite short. I loved the variety of stories and that their stories very much tell you a lot about who the character is overall. Interesting to see that the way one tells a story will change the story or how a story told can tell you a lot about the teller.

A hilarious little book with cute illustrations, and lots of laughing moments and silly moments. Good introduction to pique your interest for the book of Grimwood.

Not Like The Others Review

A friend gifted me this book out form my wishlist and I had it there because it has foxes and the artwork looks adorable!

A short cute book celebrating diversity (even if it is mostly with animals) and being different. It is in a way a readalong, an activity book and just cute to look at. Each set of pages has some information about the animal in the opposite page and then the idea is to find the one that is not like the others (hints of what makes it different are in the description).

At the end you also have more activities ifyou want to, and you could read this along, or hand to a child to just be mesmerised by the many animal sin the pages and the subtle differences (or the poignant ones) and what makes them special. Or play a “which one do you feel like right now?” I can see a lot of potential of keeping younger children absorbed in it and the little details.

All in all, a cut ebook for searching, celebrating differences and just larning a tiny bit about animals.
